Arktikum displays life of the north in several ways, including all of the arctic areas.
At Arktikum you can familiarize with the history of Rovaniemi, get an insight into Sámi culture and see what the arctic areas of the world has to offer and what challenges they face. One of the highlights is the Northern Light theatre where the magic lights are explained very well and in detail after which you can lay down in the theatre and enjoy a mythical northern lights show on the ceiling screen.
Arktikum has a great shop for handicraft, design items and books, so make sure you have time to have a look at the shop’s offering. The cafe and restaurant is open on weekdays and opening times vary.
