Reindeer husbandry is one of the oldest and most traditional livelihoods in Lapland and northern Finland. The reindeer herders follow the year of the reindeer in their daily lives and tasks and this rhythm is pretty much unchanged since centuries. Nowadays reindeer herders in Finland have permanent homes and move to their herds with snowmobiles, ATVs and even helicopters, while the reindeer still go from winter to summer pastures as they always have.
